Fireworks
It was raining cats and dogs in the morning yesterday and the photo-taking session in our grad gowns with my squadmates had to be postponed. God, must give us a nice and sunny day 2 weeks later ok? ;) I wonder wat will the students there now think when they see us posing at various corners of SNG in our convo gowns hehe. When we were their age, most of us couldn't wait to get out of the school due to various reasons. Not me. But when the time came to leave, I still couldn't bear to. I always found myself dropping by there after school during my JC days and sighing as I reminisce abt the days of the past. Think I'm really very sentimental in nature.
In the evening, went to watch fireworks and the NDP mobile column with Shizhi, Hanyong, Hong Xian and Pearl. The guys were really nice to tell me all abt e various military vehicle, of which I had absolutely no clue as to their names and function. But I have always enjoyed watching the march past segment of the NDP, more than e floats etc after that. Hahaha perhaps that is the remains of my days in uniformed group. Saw the St. John and Red Cross uniformed grps walk past us and smiled as I rem my days in the past. I din get to wear that nice black and white St. John uniform back then! Mine was the old version which look exactly like wat a nurse would wear, complete with the cap. The new one is more practical I think, cos it is culottes instead of skirt...good for footdrill and doing 1st aid. I rem arranging for my juniors to make that new version in my last year.
The Esplanade area was very packed, as expected. We managed to stand at a reasonably good spot to watch e fireworks. Woah! The impact of it in real life and from a near proximity was so cool!!! Think I won't be able to forget that sheer sensation, the noise, the colours and the nice reflection of the fireworks on the high rise buildings nearby. It would have been great if we could have a place in the Fullerton Hotel to watch these too!
Overall, it was a nice outing of frens, with Pearl suaning me all e way. Like school kids, we sang out parts of our fav song in Starbucks until someone pointed out that we may be getting weird looks from ppl soon if we continue on. Haha and yeah interestingly, we all ordered cold drinks except for Shizhi tho we said b4 that we will order hot drinks for Starbuck's cos they make better hot drinks and cold drinks for Coffee Bean. Perhaps next time, at an earlier part of the day, cos if I take coffee at night I won't be able to sleep :)
Hmm...I had to hand-write a cover letter for one application. I was wondering if they r trying to read my personality thru my handwriting?? In the first place, I hope they can read wat I'm writing hahaha. My mom complained that my writing is getting uglier sob sob. Parents will be parents.
