Babies tear out your innards
Many ppl are giving birth recently.
I cannot understand the excitement. Especially after hearing what my former colleague said about her mother's experience: "It's like having all your innards torn out of you." I guess that did it for me. NEVER!
Won't you find it frightening to have a hand/feet/etc sticking out of your belly?? It's like having a Spawn or some alien inside you. EEEKS!!!

Exam and a Bad Day
Yesterday was the first exam I've had in a long, long time. Not that I ever missed it, but it sure was not as difficult as I had feared. Especially given the terribly obvious hints :) Nevertheless, one cannot congratulate oneself early, if at all, especially when she has 5 modules to juggle and an ailing body to complement.
Anyway I arrived in school early only to have the right foot of my old Havaianas sandal broke! If you ever look on at those handicapped person limp in disdain, well, try it yourself. It sure ain't chicken feed. It took me about 5 minutes to walk a distance I would normally cover in about 2 minutes or less. Thankfully the Central Forum has stalls even during the exam break. A vendor actually helped me sew back the shoes. That was the longest 10 min I've waited for some time. The embarrassment was excruciating, waiting with the right foot shoe-less. Anyway, it got done in the end and I am throwing it away at the earliest convenience.
Oh to go back to a frustrating event earlier, I got tagged at Facebook, which was something I expressly told some ppl (but not the tagger, apparently) not to do. To explain, there are many un-savoury former colleagues of Mister and I, who loves to pry into our relationship. Some individuals have spread the gossip so far that I don't even care to find out and one of them commented on my Facebook because of the photo tagging. Find it a terrible invasion of privacy (I know Facebook affords none, which was why I am extremely careful about what I do up there). TMD. That spoilt the rest of the day effectively. That, Weijin, was why I took down my comment on your Facebook the other day. Sorry about that.
And a classmate seemed unhappy still that I flew her kite yesterday. I think I should not be kind and organise anymore discussion group nor volunteer for anything anymore in the future.
I also suffered sleepless night after going to someone's house and be subjected to well-intentioned session on how to conduct my Event, based on her daughter's experience. Look, I think I've researched enough (and far more than her daughter or most people ever did) to be an Event Planner in the future. And for my own, I've definitely done more preparation than anyone thought possible from this quiet little girl. So if ppl could spare me future suggestions, I would be grateful. Esp given my current health condition.

Uniqlo
I finally got to see what all those Uniqlo hype was about. For the uninitiated, Uniqlo is the Japanese version of Giordano, a clothing chain that carries great basics. I think Uniqlo is wayyyy better than Giordano, though. It is slightly more expensive, but the material is great! And it has such a wide range of stuff that improves on basics! For the Autumn/ Winter collection, they are carrying thermal underwear, cashmere cardigans and coats. I love their support underwear and denim range....for a fraction of the price of the jeans that I used to buy! And the soft cotton tee shirts were really soft! They carry cute footsies for wearing under your pumps too! And their belts are nice!
Okay it will not prevent me from frequenting my usual high street wear chains, but I'm sure be visiting Uniqlo a lot more!
Encountered a bit of problem with regards to Holy Matrimony details, but nothing that a little reworking of the programme cannot do.

Polvoron and Goldilocks
It's reading week now. Finally finished my last term paper yesterday and promptly sent it to my lecturer. He responded by saying that I was done submitting all my CA requirements. How many lecturers will do that? Will really miss him. At least I have his book to remember him by.
It would be nice to visit the Philippines. And buy all those Polvoron and Goldilocks, which I haven't had since my previous workplace. Currently I'm wondering when will I be well enough to start guzzling North Indian food again. Sob, sob...mutton korma, palak paneer and naan :(
No matter how different you are trying to make your Event, I guess most ideas have ultimately been used. Unless you have the dough to make something entirely personalised. Well, as long as it's not another dreary ballroom affair with never-ending wait for dishes, at least for me.
Another six months of studies. Praying that I survive the next sem. Anyhow I did the student feedback exercise and gave my 2 cents' worth about some lecturers. I do think that biasness is the worst offense an educator can commit.

Plane Flown again....
Got my plane flown by a lecturer again last night. Apparently the class was informed during lect last week. But I didn't attend as I was recovering from my scan. I think it showed me how pathetic my social circle has become too. Evening lessons are not the most conducive for making friends...at least for me. With 5 modules, every minute needs to be maximised. And when your lessons end at 9.30 every night....all you want to do is to go home and crash on the bed. And start the cycle all over again the next day.
I don't think I can finish my essays by Fri as planned. Cramming for a test tmr is taking up way too much time. Why are we made to memorise stuff at this age??? Bleah.
They are late in paying my maintenance.
Mister is away in the jungle.
I wish the weekends will come soon. I wish December 3rd will come soon. Wait, actually I wish 8 May 2010 will speed its way here. If patience is indeed a virtue, perhaps I have accumulated too much virtue these days.

Cooking
Due to unprecedented stress of studies and event planning, I had a health scare recently. Thank God the name of the illness had been established. Nevertheless, it was not fun to lose 4 kg and be back to my uni weight. My size 24 jeans that I haven't worn in 4 years is now too loose. The newer ones, needless to say, no longer fit.
Anyway, one good thing that came out of this health scare is that I have actually taken an interest in cooking. Some of the stuff that I thought the maid could handle was actually so badly done that I took matters into my own hand and taught her. The result was not too bad. I suppose we all can cook if we take a little interest and effort. This reminds me of the time when I used to hate sewing. Home Econs class changed my perspective. Perhaps we all do have that little domesticity in us, no?
Anyway this should all come in handy when I move next year.

Recipe: Double Boiled Beef Soup
My Indon side of the family used to make this when I was a kid. Luckily, my Mum (who incidentally does not eat beef or mutton) has passed the recipe to me. For the purpose of future reference, I decided to put it down in "pen"
Ingredients:
Beef shank
Ginger
Plain water
Cuckoo eggs (optional)
Carrot
Tomato
Method:
Rub a pinch of salt on the beef shank in order to get rid of some smell. Leave at one side
Crush the ginger and boil the cuckoo eggs.
Add everything into either a slow cooker or a double boil china pot. Add water. If in china pot, boil over two hours. You may add the peeled cuckoo eggs in halfway through or at the end.
