Mumbai Carnage
I have been following up on the attacks in Mumbai and the sentiment is one of deep sadness. What went on the minds of these young men as they went on pumping bullets into the bodies of hapless fellow human beings? The accuracy of the movement, the speed in which it took place and the sheer cold-bloodedness of the operation was almost like something out of the worst violent movie. At times, my indignance reached its height and I feel like murdering the gunmen with my bare hands.
But evil breeds more evil. Last night I was suggesting some ways in which we could "torture" someone we mutually dislike to Mister, all in the spirit of fun. I used the examples of the torture methods administered towards captured Vietcong soldiers that I saw in HCM's War Remnants Museum. But his gentle words suddenly stopped me. What am I thinking? Doesn't violence first stem from thoughts? So, thank you, Lord, for nipping me in the bud :)

Through His Stomach...Man...
I'm at the library, using the cluster pc now. Will probably be murdered if anyone caught me doing this. But things have been really slow, considering the fact that the holiday season is here. I know that I face the pc all day long, but there is this liberating feeling of escaping and going to a cluster pc that is so liberating. It is reminiscent of the time back as an undergraduate, where waiting for my turn at the cluster pc was a norm.
Last night, I caught the last few minutes of the new Channel 8 epic drama serial "Little Nyonya" on tv and kind of enjoyed what I saw, although I have never liked any of the Singaporean tv shows. One thing a character said to one of the leads woke me up. The adage "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" still rings true. He told me something on saturday that confirms it. So I guess I should make an effort in the kitchen.
Bro is back! Praise be to God, he managed to pass all his papers and even get a Distinction for one module. I am thinking of a family meal or something this weekend.
Tis' the time for weddings. I attended about 3 last month and will have another 3 this month! Pearl and Shizhi's as well as Huilin's this weekend. Sam's next weekend. Wooots....broke liao. But it is my pleasure to attend celebrations for my dear friends.
To dear Ji-san, thanks for your recommendation! The Jurong East swimming complex was a fun place!
Sometimes I am not sure why I still think of some people whenever I blog. I doubt many of them still read this blog. But no matter. Perhaps a blog's purpose is not all about being read :)
