Thoughts on a balmy breeze

Hee... am in office early to update about my life while sipping a cup of tea...absolute necessity during PMS days when I can barely drag my body about.

I foresee busier days ahead...

But the sky seems unusually bright and there is something about the balmy breeze that I really like today as it brings with it the aroma of the days of old, when life was carefree in comparison. Not that I am hating life and wish to escape, but one can't help being nostalgic at some point in time, I suppose. No matter how good life is. And in a sense, it is good despite some lows, which is of course a part of life.

Hey Jen,

I'm going to Jakarta next month. Any travel advice, good makan places? good eats to recommend?

And how to avoid the damn jams?

Ermita

Oops besides good eats, I also meant any good places to also do touristy see-see stuff. Especially cheap shopping.

Ermita

Hi Ermita! Long time no see! :) You must try Cianjur Restaurant at Pecenongan Street for great bbq fish and seafood. Try Garuda for delish nasi padang. I personally think shopping is better and cheaper in Singapore, but if you are up for bargains, go to Mangga Dua wholesale center. For something more up-scale, you can try Kelapa Gading Mall or Plaza Senayan or Plaza Indonesia. As for the jams...err, I would advise you to grin and bear it heehee :) Oh, pls don't ever go onto any cab except Blue Bird or Silver Bird ones...very risky!

Touristy...do go to the Fatahillah Museum...think it has an underground dungeon! Museum Nasional is good, too. Monas (Monument Nasional) is the landmark so it must not be missed. I think the Cathedral is another good option. And also the Istiqlal Mosque beside it. Ancol is good for a day of fun, like swimming and amusement park and the beach.

Hope this helps :) Tell me if you need more info ok! Have fun!!!
