The Opera Populaire

This has been the most restful long weekend I have ever had for a while. I realised that, for the past few months or so, weekends have more often than not been a series of rushing here and there. Mostly for the preparation of the event, but also because we have been looking around for a church to attend. And I am ashamed to say that, after being accustomed to attending Saturday afternoon services, it has become very tiring to rouse myself to wake up for early Sunday morning services.

It hasn't been easy to find a place we can both belong to. Really pray that God show us where to go.

Anyhow, Mother's Day was a real bummer. I volunteered to drive my grandparents to show a guest around and ended up thoroughly regretting it. At the risk of sounding like an unfilial bitch, it is really annoying to be treated like a chauffeur, especially by someone who has lost all sense of direction and yet still want to boss people around. My grandma and I din relish being made to sit in the car, while they went to look around. If they thought they are saving a few cents of parking fees, they were actually wasting petrol money. The drive at night was even worse in a way. Although I was glad that I was able to help with my good sense of direction, but still, it will have to be a long while before I'll ever do it again. I much prefer driving my grandma to shop and waiting for her, somehow.

This morning has been great. It has been ages since I slept this well and could laze about in bed. Sadly, I just found out that UOB Lady's card no longer entitles me to complimentary workout at California Fitness!! Ah well. Anyway shall still enjoy the break!
