My Classics for Today

I should be more pro-active about taking picts and uploading them on my blog if I wanna make posts like this a success. But I'm camera-phobic. I hate my eyebags, dark eye-rings, body etc, etc. Nevertheless, I feel like journaling these down to remind myself of how blessed I already am in terms of owning a wardrobe filled with classics I will love for years to come, and more!

Classic for today:

1) My Topshop navy blue Peterpan collar dress. This has a see-thru back and I had scoured all over for the perfect backless bra to go with it and hit a solution: wear a dark tube top inside or pair it with a cardi outside. Problem solved. Stick-on bras never did work for me and never will. My ex-colleague called it "sexy but not slutty." I have had this for about 3 years or more and still love it. But I do not wear it often enough for the above reason. But I still love it for its old-world charm. It's something I wear as a young girl, oso now when I'm in my 30s and I believe I will continue to love this style for another 20 years at least. Or until I find a more grown-up version.

2) My Tommy Hilfiger weave watch. Many people think it's Bottega Veneta due to the weave leather strap. It was bought by my Mom in HK and goes with 90% of my wardrobe. Confirmed classic for life.

3) My vintage heirloom diamond gold ring. This belonged to my late grandmother, apparently. Before my marriage last year, my Mom looked through the family heirloom jewelry collection to give me. The moment this ring was placed on my finger *wham!* Perfect size and fit! The diamond is big and shiny despite its age. Gosh, Granny had the same finger size as me?!? How uncanny. Been trying to wear it more often, on the left middle finger just beside my wedding ring. Not gonna sell it, ever. Not even if I'm ever left destitute.

4) My Mulberry Alexa bag. This was the "it" bag last year. I think I blogged a quote from Alexa Chung, former Brit model cum DJ, whose style I adore, some time back. The moment I saw it, I knew it was mine. I never owned much bags prior to this, because I'm uncannily fussy about bags. Last year was a watershed in my bag-buying because I finally found my style and got what the whole designer bag thang was about. I adore all sorts of satchel and messenger style bags, thus it was a good reason to invest in one. It is roomy enough for everything, super versatile and tough. And, like most of my other stuff, I got it at a deal! (I am quite good with deals, most time)
